Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo - Executive Director

The Uganda Vice Chancellors Forum (UVCF) Annual Conference, held on October 4th, 2024, at Best Western Hotel in Entebbe, focused on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in Uganda’s higher education curriculum. Prof. Jude Lubega, Vice Chancellor of Nkumba University, delivered the keynote, emphasizing AI’s transformative impact on teaching, learning, and administration. Dr. Godliver Owomugisha, Senior Lecturer at Busitema University, presented a case study on the challenges and opportunities of AI implementation in curricula at her institution.

Other notable presentations included Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe, who discussed the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in supporting the sustainability of Uganda’s Parish Development Model (PDM). Mr. Nicholas Mbonimpa, CEO of RENU, highlighted the importance of Network Infrastructure and digital education, emphasizing the need for institutions to embrace RENU services. Additionally, the UBTEB assessment provided insights into aligning assessments with new educational Curriculum.
