Dr.Felix Adiburu Andama (PhD) underscores the crucial significance of effective leadership within Uganda’s higher education sector during his presentation at The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum Workshop. He accentuates the pivotal contributions of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to the Sustainable Development Agenda, emphasizing education, research, consultancies, and community engagement. Dr. Andama highlights the swiftly evolving landscape of higher education, pointing out pressing concerns that demand adaptive and visionary leadership. He advocates for the adoption of innovative leadership approaches to ensure HEIs maintain relevance and success amidst dynamic changes, urging stakeholders to embrace strategic foresight and adaptability for sustained progress.
Mr.Tibenderana Narcicir, the Academic Registrar at Kabale University, took the stage to deliver a presentation on the intricate landscape of leadership within higher education, titled “Challenges and Opportunities in Leadership within the Realm of Higher Education.” Addressing an esteemed audience at the Leadership Workshop in Entebbe, hosted by the Uganda Vice Chancellors Forum, Narcicir’s discourse aimed to shed light on the diverse array of obstacles and prospects inherent in guiding academic institutions. Focusing on cultivating excellence, innovation, and inclusivity, the presentation sought to chart a course towards effective leadership strategies capable of navigating prevailing challenges while capitalizing on the abundant opportunities for growth and advancement within the higher education sector.
Professor Paul Waako, Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, took the stage to deliver a compelling paper at the Uganda Vice Chancellors Forum workshop. Titled “Building Strategic Partnerships: A Unified Community of Knowledge Generation and Innovation,” Professor Waako, renowned for his academic achievements including MBchB, MSc (Mak), PhD (Cape Town), Dip Mgt (UMI), shared insights aimed at fostering collaboration and synergy within the realm of knowledge creation and innovation.
