The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, Indianapolis, in partnership with Africa Renewal University (AfRU) and the Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF), successfully conducted a two-day in-person training on strategic and specialized fundraising for higher education. The training took place on August 16–17, 2025, at the Africa Renewal University campus in Buloba.

This timely program addressed the pressing financial challenges facing universities across Africa, particularly in Uganda, where increasing demands for institutional sustainability and development have made fundraising a critical strategic priority.

Led by distinguished Professors of Philanthropic Studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the training provided university fundraising and resource mobilization teams with practical tools, frameworks, and actionable strategies to design and implement successful fundraising campaigns, equipping institutions to secure sustainable resources for growth and development.
