
76th UVCF General Meeting at Mbarara University of Science and Technology
The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) held its 76th General Meeting at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), bringing together leaders from higher education institutions to deliberate on key issues affecting the sector.
Discussions focused on:
- Bridging the Gap Between Education and Employment – aligning academic programs with industry needs.
- Impact of the TVET Act 2025 – implications for universities and degree-awarding institutions.
- Status of the Uganda National Qualifications Framework (UNQF) – updates on implementation and quality standards by (MoES).
- UVCF 76th Meeting Programme – priority agenda items for 2025.
Remarks were delivered by Prof. Pauline Byakika-Kibwika (Vice Chancellor, MUST), Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo (Executive Director), and Prof. Paul Waako (Chairperson, UVCF).
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to advancing quality, relevance, and competitiveness in Uganda’s higher education through collaboration and informed policy engagement.
