Financial Managers workshop

The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) Secretariat held a national workshop on Enhancing Financial Management and Resource Mobilization in Higher Education Institutions on 25th April 2025. The event gathered participants from various universities across Uganda and was officially opened by UVCF Executive Director, Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, who underscored the importance of sound financial practices and effective resource mobilization in sustaining academic institutions.

Presentations

The workshop featured key presentations including Financial Management in Higher Education by Mr. Paul Mark Kayongo, who emphasized accountability and governance; Financial Sustainability and Risk Management by Mr. Peter Clinton Mutumba, highlighting strategic planning and risk mitigation; and Technology in Financial Management by Mr. Paul Mulema, who discussed digital tools for efficiency. Other sessions covered Resource Mobilization Strategies and Cybersecurity in Financial Systems, presented by Mr. William Kibirango of RENU, stressing the need for secure digital financial operations.

At the conclusion of the workshop, key recommendations were made to guide future policy and practice, and all participants were awarded certificates of recognition for their active engagement and contribution.
