Africa Renewal University (AfRU) launched the Africa School of Film and Media Arts.

On October 30, 2025, Africa Renewal University (AfRU) in Uganda launched the Africa School of Film and Media Arts, marking a significant milestone in advancing creative and digital media education.

The launch concluded a four-day Film Summit that offered hands-on training in filmmaking, directing, lighting, and cinematography led by local and international experts.
The event brought together leaders from academia, media, and regulatory bodies.

The UVCF Secretariat was represented by Mr. Ronald Balimunsi, Head of ICT and Innovations, who attended on behalf of the Executive Director, Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo.

Speakers commended AfRU’s vision for Kingdom-centered storytelling, innovation, and its contribution to strengthening Uganda’s film industry.
UCC pledged continued support for youth empowerment through digital and creative initiatives, while Next Media emphasized collaboration and the promotion of family-friendly content.

The school was officially launched by AfRU’s international partners, Mr. Brian Glassford and Mr. Derrick Warfel, who were honored for their contributions.

This milestone underscores AfRU’s mission to transform society through Christ-centered education and innovation, raising a new generation of African storytellers to shape narratives and values across the continent and beyond.
