The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) held a two-day training workshop for Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants on 24th–25th September 2026 at Horizon Hotel, Entebbe, under the theme *“Strengthening Professional Excellence in Executive Support Services in Higher Education Institutions.”
The workshop provided participants with practical knowledge and skills to strengthen their effectiveness in supporting university leadership and administration.
Sessions covered: university governance, structures and decision-making, tracking, measuring and presenting professional impact for HR appraisals, and turning routine administrative interactions into excellent service experiences.
Participants also explored records management, confidentiality and information security, as well as the use of digital tools and Artificial Intelligence for executive support.
The final sessions focused on effective meeting management, minute writing and event coordination*, followed by group work, presentations of resolutions and action points, evaluation and the closing ceremony.
The interactive format enabled participants to reflect on their roles, share experiences and identify practical ways of improving professional excellence, service delivery and effectiveness within their institutions.
The workshop reaffirmed UVCF’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of administrative professionals who play an important role in supporting leadership and the effective functioning of higher education institutions.
