The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) General Meeting, scheduled for 14 September 2026 at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, will convene Vice Chancellors, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Academic Registrars, and other senior leaders from UVCF member institutions to deliberate on strategic priorities shaping the future of higher education in Uganda.

The meeting will provide a high-level platform for reflecting on the Forum’s achievements and strategic direction, examining emerging policy and regulatory developments, strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, and sharing evidence-based practices in university governance, quality assurance, research, innovation, and digital transformation.

Particular attention will be given to key UVCF initiatives and sector priorities, including the transition to Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET), development of national university data and information systems, international partnerships, institutional capacity building, and the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies and evolving global trends in higher education.

Through constructive dialogue and collective deliberation, participants will explore practical strategies for enhancing the quality, relevance, accessibility, resilience, and sustainability of university education in Uganda. The meeting will further strengthen the Forum’s role as a platform for collective leadership, knowledge exchange, policy engagement, and advocacy on matters of national and strategic importance to higher education.

Ultimately, the General Meeting seeks to foster a stronger and more responsive higher education system—one that is innovative, globally competitive, digitally enabled, quality-driven, and firmly aligned with Uganda’s socio-economic transformation and sustainable national development agenda.
