UVCF Installs New Chairperson, Prof. Paul Waako of Busitema University
Kampala, Uganda | April 22, 2025 – The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) has today officially installed its new Chairperson, Prof. Paul Waako, the Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, to lead the forum for the next two years. The handover and installation ceremony took place at King Ceaser University in Kampala.
The occasion was graced by several dignitaries, including the Executive Director of UVCF, Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of King Ceaser University, members of the UVCF Executive Committee, and representatives from member institutions.
In his remarks, Prof. Lugujjo congratulated Prof. Waako upon his appointment and expressed confidence in his leadership to steer the Forum towards greater collaboration, policy influence, and transformation in Uganda’s higher education sector.
Prof. Waako, in his acceptance speech, pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors, strengthen partnerships, enhance research and innovation capacity among member institutions, and advocate for the collective interests of universities and degree-awarding institutions in Uganda.
The Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum, a unifying platform for higher education leaders, continues to play a pivotal role in promoting academic excellence, policy dialogue, and institutional development across Uganda’s university landscape.
