2025 UVCF Activities

The Uganda Vice Chancellors Forum (UVCF) has outlined key priorities for 2025 aimed at advancing higher education and driving socio-economic development in Uganda. The forum plans to strengthen global partnerships with institutions in the USA, UK, Canada, and Vietnam to enhance research opportunities, PhD training, capacity building, and student exchange programs.

On the local front, UVCF will collaborate with The Uhuru Institute for Social Development (TUI) among others to promote cooperative education, implement the SkillCoop Graduate Apprentice Programme, and foster socio-economic transformation. Additionally, partnerships with Nine Plus One will focus on utilizing technology to improve education and drive innovation across member universities.

UVCF intends to complete its central database to improve data management, streamline communication, and ensure regulatory compliance. Other technology-focused initiatives include expanding access to virtual labs and conducting workshops on artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing its integration into academic curricula.

The forum will also continue advocating for policies supporting the adoption of AI in education and work toward securing its legal recognition as a nonprofit organization to further its mission.
